Strandjutten at Woodstock'69: The Howlin' + Jay Way

Strandjutten at Woodstock’69:

THE HOWLIN’
Jay-Way

De derde en laatste Strandjutten alweer. Na de heerlijke shows van o.a. Waltzburg, Figgie, Blue Marble en AVI ON FIRE is het nu tijd voor de laatste, maar zeker niet de minste editie!

THE HOWLIN’ – The Howlin’s discovery sails alive as the band takes you by the hand on their musical journey, discovering different genres they all personally feel connected to. Some band members are passionate old skool Hip Hop fans, while others prefer Alternative above anything else. Besides that, they all agree to folk and rock. On their EP This Road The Howlin’ smartly combines their favourite music into a sound that typifies their vibe: modern – rough around the edges – soulful tunes with a raw, but sexy, twist. And if you feel this sounds a little too much of an eclectic mix for your liking, you’ve obviously never heard a band like The Howlin’ before. They just connect on both a musical and spiritual level.

Jay-Way – From the moment Jay-Way entered the Hip Hop scene, everyone noticed that he is different. No average songs about sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll, but conscious lyrics, in which he is spreading his positive message through complex story telling. Being influenced during the short time he lived in New York, his honest, poetic and straight lyrics, speak to an entire new generation, as well as older Hip Hop fans.

After putting out the popular first single “Cool Kid”, Jay-Way released his first solo project “Jaynalysis” November 2015. A month later, the young artist took home the award for Best Rapper at the Glint Awards. In 2016, he got chosen to be one of the (5) Encore Freshmen, releasing a compilation album. His first song from this project, “Happen Dappen”, received 100K plays within the first week of release, went straight to number 1 in the Spotify NL Viral Chart and has gained over 2 million streams up to date.

Jay-Way is not your average new rapper. His fan base is growing as he keeps rocking the stage with his own shows and festivals with his live band as well as opening up for artists such as KRS-One, Obie Trice and Rejjie Snow.

Jay-Way’s latest project “No Life No WiFi” was released in October 2017. The first single “Hideout” turned out to be a great gateway to the rest of the EP. Jay-Way did a live performance with his band for the radio show 3VOOR12 on NPO/3FM and was Artist of the Week at FunX radio. Be on the lookout, this “uncool” kid will definitely grab your attention, as he is going to release videos for his songs in the next few months, while he keeps working on new music.
